A World of Difference

Every Wildergorn drawing has it's own unique life. The line drawings are transformed by colour, no two are ever the same and each bears the individual style of the person or people who set out to capture the essence of Wildergorn.

Framed and displayed (highly recommended) the finished pictures often become iconic reminders of an era. Here you can see some examples, both finished and in progress, by Wildergorn explorers - and new work is always welcome. We had a great time with this poster. I tried to make it as close of a copy of the Air Stones world as I could
and then show how quickly things changed when those dastardly Storm Fish invaded!!!
It was really fun to try and show the emotion and chaos of the invasion, I hope it came across that way. Great fun as always!

It was done with a set of 320 Ohuhu Honolulu alcohol based brush/chisel pens. (Unfortunately I can't afford Copic Sketch - my ideal) The Ohuhu bleed a lot so I won’t be able to use them for the Book of Wildergorn but they’re great for the posters. Now I have to decide which one to tackle next!

I was very daunted at first by the size of task ahead which was why there has been some considerable time between my purchase and actually taking the plunge. I'm so glad I did!
With regard to materials, I started off with a small cheap set of 20 water-based brush pens (Bowers), at the bottom of the picture (I worked upwards - I may work from the top down next time) and quickly realised that I needed a much greater range, so I expanded with a 96 watercolour brush pen set from Creative Peak.
I find brush pens offer speed with accuracy and less streaking than either chisel or fine tip markers.

The Stormfish of Sool

I really enjoyed tackling the precise detail on this one, and the Ohuhu markers continue to be a pleasure to use. Next one - yet to decide. It's taking me about a month or so to do each one, depending on how much time I spend each week. I also like to build up a stock of patience so I do each one justice.
Once again, thank you for the all the fun each one brings while colouring and the sense of achievement when completed. They will all definitely be going on the walls around my house.

It was a lovely experience introducing my husband to coloring and having to figure out how to develop a logic on that. Jamie's designs are a nice introductory medium for people who know nothing about colors, or application, just give them a color wheel that will help :D.

"Mr. Jamie, receiving the Watergorn poster as a present from my niece Marta was wonderful. I spent entire evenings colouring this mysterious and imaginative world. I used GIOTTO Stilnovo pencils, sometimes by overlapping two colours to create special nuances. I will be wanting to colour more posters for sure in the future".
